Devils, Islanders make trade

The New Jersey Devils have acquired defenseman Dennis Cholowski from the New York Islanders in exchange for forward Adam Beckman.

Cholowski has played 33 games with the Islanders this season, recording three goals and seven assists. He also has one goal in six AHL contests with the Bridgeport Islanders.

A seventh-year pro, Cholowski has skated in 241 AHL games with Bridgeport, Charlotte and Grand Rapids, registering 18 goals and 105 assists for 123 points.

In 150 career NHL games with the Red Wings, Kraken, Capitals and Islanders, Cholowski has totaled 13 goals and 27 assists for 40 points. He was a first-round pick (20th overall) in the 2016 NHL Draft by Detroit.

Beckman has put up 13 goals and 20 assists for 33 points in 43 games with the AHL’s Utica Comets this season, his fourth pro campaign.

In 224 career AHL games with Utica and Iowa, Beckman has totaled 70 goals and 71 assists for 141 points.

A third-round pick by Minnesota in the 2019 NHL Draft, Beckman has played 23 games in the NHL with the Wild, recording three assists.
