The Dallas Stars, parent club of the AHL’s Texas Stars, have acquired defenseman Dillon Heatherington from the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for left wing Lauri Korpikoski.
Heatherington, 21, has produced one goal and five assists in 38 games with the Cleveland Monsters this season. As a rookie in 2015-16, he helped the Monsters to a Calder Cup championship, collecting three goals and 16 assists with a plus-17 rating in 63 regular-season contests and adding three assists in 15 postseason outings.
The 6-foot-4, 215-pound native of Calgary, Alta., was originally selected by Columbus in the second round (50th overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft.
