Rangers, Predators trade AHL forwards

The Nashville Predators have acquired forward Cole Schneider from the New York Rangers in exchange for forward Connor Brickley.

Schneider has 13 goals and 12 assists for 25 points in 36 games while serving as captain of the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack this season, tied for second on the club in scoring.

A seventh-year pro from Williamsville, N.Y., Schneider has skated in 465 career AHL games with Hartford, Rochester and Binghamton, totaling 140 goals and 203 assists for 343 points. He was an AHL All-Star in 2017, and has recorded at least 50 points in each of his last five seasons.

Undrafted, Schneider has one assist in six career NHL games, all with Buffalo.

Brickley has registered seven goals and four assists for 11 points in 39 games with the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals this season.

The fifth-year pro from Everett, Mass., has compiled 57 goals and 56 assists for 113 points in 234 career AHL games with Milwaukee, Charlotte, Portland and San Antonio.

A second-round draft pick by Florida in 2010, Brickley has appeared in 67 NHL games with the Panthers, tallying five goals and 12 assists for 17 points.
