Reign roll to draw even with Stars

Philippe Maillet scored twice and Cal Petersen made 28 saves as Ontario rebounded from an overtime loss in Game 1 with a resounding 5-1 victory over Texas in Game 2 of the Pacific Division semifinal series in Cedar Park on Friday.

The teams head to southern California with the best-of-5 series even at a game apiece. Game 3 is Sunday afternoon.

Matt Luff, T.J. Hensick and Oscar Fantenberg also scored for the Reign and Brett Sutter chipped in with two assists.

Brian Flynn, whose OT goal gave the Stars the win on Thursday night, picked up his second goal of the series with the only Texas tally on Friday.

Mike McKenna finished with 27 saves in the loss.
