The New York Islanders announced today that Chris Terreri has been named the team’s goaltending development coach and goalie coach for the AHL’s Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

Terreri will work with goaltenders throughout the Islanders organization, including those playing with the club’s minor league affiliates and amateur prospects. He’ll also serve the team in a scouting capacity.

Terreri spent the last 16 seasons as a member of the New Jersey Devils coaching staff, including the last eight as New Jersey’s goaltending coach.

In 15 pro seasons as a player, Terreri played 406 games in the NHL with New Jersey, San Jose, Chicago and the Islanders, winning two Stanley Cups with the Devils. He appeared in 61 AHL contests as well, with the Maine Mariners, Utica Devils and Albany River Rats.
