Tuesday’s preseason recaps

PEORIA 7, IOWA 3
The Peoria Rivermen got a goal and two assists from Charles Linglet en route to a 7-3 win over the Iowa Stars in AHL preseason action at Carver Arena on Tuesday night.

Linglet set up two power-play goals during the Rivermen’s three-goal first period and Peoria built a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes.

Ryan Ramsay, Kevin Croxton, Gino Guyer and Jeff Woywitka also scored for Peoria, while Chris Beckford-Tseu made 21 saves.

Jon Smyth, Marius Holtet and Jamie Fraser picked up the goals for the Stars, who were making their 2006 preseason debut.

Scott Silverthorn (13 saves, 4 GA) and John Daigneau (8 saves, 3 GA) split the goaltending duties for Iowa.

ROCHESTER 3, SYRACUSE 2 (OT)
Jonathan Lehun scored 1:26 into overtime to lift Rochester to a 3-2 win over Syracuse at the Onondaga County War Memorial on Tuesday afternoon.

Lehun’s winner came after Adam Taylor tied the game for the Amerks with just 20 seconds left in regulation.

Derek Damon also scored for Rochester, and Adam Dennis went the distance in net, stopping 18 of 20 shots.

Mark Flood and A.J. MacLean were the goal scorers for the Crunch. Andy Franck stopped all 16 shots he faced before giving way to Brad Roberts (16 saves).


BRIDGEPORT 4, HARTFORD 3 (OT)

Drew Fata scored with 11 seconds left in overtime as Bridgeport posted a 4-3 win over Hartford in Danbury, Conn.

Fata’s goal came three seconds after the start of a Sound Tigers power play. All four of Bridgeport’s goals on the night came with the man advantage.

Jason Guerriero, Ken Magowan and Colin Hemingway also scored for the Sound Tigers, while Billy Thompson stopped 40 shots.

Dane Byers, Zdenek Bahensky and Ryan Callahan had the Wolf Pack goals.
