Wild acquire Conor Allen from Ottawa

The Minnesota Wild has acquired defenseman Conor Allen from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for forward Michael Keranen.

 

Allen, 26, has tallied 11 points (2-9=11) and 62 penalty minutes (PIM) in 48 American Hockey League (AHL) games with Binghamton and Milwaukee this season. The 6-foot-2, 208-pound native of Chicago, Ill., has recorded 76 points (19-57=76) and 246 PIM in 193 career AHL games with Connecticut, Hartford, Milwaukee and Binghamton. He appeared in seven NHL games with the New York Rankers and made his NHL debut on Dec. 29, 2013 at Tampa Bay.

 

Keranen, 26, tallied 23 points (8-15=23) in 45 games with Iowa this season.
