Wolves back in postseason

The Chicago Wolves became the seventh Western Conference team to clinch a berth in the 2015 Calder Cup Playoffs, securing their spot with a 1-0 win over Iowa on Sunday evening.

Chicago (39-27-6-1, 85 points) heads to the postseason for the 10th time in 14 years as members of the AHL, and the 17th time in 21 years overall. The Wolves won the Calder Cup in 2002 and 2008 after winning the Turner Cup in the International Hockey League in 1998 and 2000.

Only one playoff spot remains unclaimed in the West heading into the final week of the regular season. Toronto currently holds a two-point lead over Milwaukee, with Hamilton and Lake Erie both three points back and Adirondack trailing by five points.

Eight teams in each conference will qualify for the 2015 Calder Cup Playoffs. For more information and daily updates on the playoff races, check out the official AHL Playoff Primer.
