The Milwaukee Admirals have added former University of Wisconsin forward Mark Zengerle on an American Hockey League contract.
Zengerle was claimed off waivers by Milwaukee on Wednesday after initially signing with Rochester. The 28-year-old Zengerle began the 2017-18 season with Linkoping of the Swedish Hockey League, where he recorded one assist in nine games.
A fourth-year pro from Rochester, N.Y., Zengerle collected 13 goals and 21 assists for 34 points in 69 AHL games with Lehigh Valley last season. In 213 career AHL contests with the Phantoms and the Grand Rapids Griffins, Zengerle has totaled 37 goals and 81 assists for 118 points.
