The North Division Finals resume this afternoon as Cleveland hosts Toronto in Game 3… Michael Carcone‘s goal 1:13 into overtime on Friday night gave the Marlies a 4-3 win and a 2-0 series lead… Toronto has won five straight to begin the 2019 postseason, and is up two games to none for the fifth time in six series over the last two springs… Toronto’s Jeremy Bracco (2-8-10) has six assists in two games to begin the series… Joseph Duszak and Egor Korshkov both scored their first career AHL goals for the Marlies in Game 2… Chris Mueller (5-3-8), who spent his rookie season with the Monsters in 2008-09, scored his fifth goal of the postseason and his 32nd goal in 93 career Calder Cup playoff games… Kasimir Kaskisuo (5-0, 1.78, .942) made 35 saves in the Game 2 win… Sonny Milano (2-8-10) and Dan DeSalvo (2-3-5) tallied a goal and two assists apiece on Friday as Cleveland came back from 2-0 and 3-2 deficits to force overtime… The Marlies are 5-for-10 on the power play in the series; the Monsters are 1-for-6… Cleveland and Toronto have met four times at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse this season and combined for 44 goals in those contests (5.5 goals per game per team)… Today’s game will be televised live on NHL Network.

Iowa returns home looking to begin a climb out of a series hole as it they take on Chicago in Game 3 of the Central Division Finals this afternoon… The Wolves opened up a two-games-to-none lead with a 4-3 win on Thursday night, the seventh one-goal game out of 10 meetings between these teams this season… Daniel Carr (0-4-4) and Brooks Macek (2-1-3), who both returned to the Chicago lineup for Game 1 after extended injury absences, are the Wolves’ top two scorers in the series… Stefan Matteau (0-2-2) had two assists for Chicago in Game 2, his first multiple-point effort of the entire season… Iowa’s Gerald Mayhew (7-1-8) scored his league-leading seventh goal of the playoffs in Game 2… Mayhew (three) and Luke Kunin (two) have accounted for all five Wild goals in the series… Chicago has won four straight games; Iowa has lost four of five, but all five of those games were on the road… The Wild have outscored their opponents 18-2 over their last four home games… Iowa is 27-for-28 on the penalty kill this postseason (96.4 percent).
