The Nashville Predators have signed forward Daniel Carr to a one-year contract for the 2019-20 season.

Carr, 27, is the reigning MVP of the American Hockey League after recording 30 goals and 41 assists for 71 points and a plus-35 rating in just 52 games with the Chicago Wolves in 2018-19. His 1.37 points-per-game average was the highest in seven years for an AHL player appearing in at least half of his team’s games.

Carr returned from injury to help the Wolves reach the Calder Cup Finals, collecting five goals and seven assists in 15 postseason games.

He also skated in six NHL games with Vegas last season, registering one goal.

In five pro seasons, Carr has appeared in 100 NHL games with Vegas and Montreal, collecting 15 goals and 20 assists for 35 points. He also has 81 goals and 80 assists for 161 points in 191 AHL games with Chicago, Laval, St. John’s and Hamilton.
