SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League announced today that Stockton Heat forward Dillon Dube has been selected as the CCM/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending March 10, 2019.
Dube scored four goals – two of them shorthanded – and added three assists for seven points in three games for the Heat last week.
On Wednesday night in San Diego, Dube set up the tying goal and scored the go-ahead marker late in the second period to send Stockton to a 7-5 victory over the Gulls. On Friday, Dube scored shorthanded to help the Heat deal Bakersfield a 4-1 defeat, snapping the Condors’ 10-game road winning streak. And on Sunday, Dube had a hand in all four Stockton scores with two goals and two assists during a 5-4 shootout loss at San Jose.
A second-round selection (56th overall) by Calgary in the 2016 NHL Draft, Dube leads all AHL rookies in points per game (1.19) this season, totaling 14 goals and 23 assists for 37 points in 31 contests for Stockton; he has recorded one goal and four assists in 23 NHL contests with the Flames as well. A 20-year-old native of Golden, B.C., Dube played four seasons of junior hockey with Kelowna (WHL) and captained Canada to a gold medal at the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship.
In recognition of being named the CCM/AHL Player of the Week, Dube will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Heat home game.
