The Texas Stars announced Monday that the team has re-signed veteran forward Travis Morin for the 2018-19 season.

Morin returns for his 10th season with the Stars after leading the team with 61 points last season, including a league-best 51 assists. The Brooklyn Park, Minn., native added seven goals and eight assists for 15 points in 22 postseason games, helping Texas reach Game 7 of the Calder Cup Finals.

Morin is the only player to skate in every season of the Stars’ existence, since they joined the AHL in 2009.

“Texas has become home for me and my family,” said Morin. “We have had great success over my time with the Stars and we are excited to come back and continue being a part of it.”

The franchise leader in career games played (618), goals (167), assists (361) and points (528), Morin led the AHL in scoring and won both AHL regular-season and Calder Cup Playoff MVP honors in 2013-14. He played in the AHL All-Star Classic in 2014 and has reached the Calder Cup Finals three times (2010, 2014, 2018).

Morin and his family have also made their impact in the Central Texas community as board members of the Texas Stars Foundation, which issues financial grants to charitable causes throughout the region.

A ninth-round selection by the Washington Capitals in the 2004 NHL Draft, Morin has skated in 13 career NHL games, all with Dallas. He has played 623 regular-season games with Texas and Hershey, collecting 167 goals and 362 assists for 529 points, and has added 23 goals and 41 assists for 64 points in 87 Calder Cup Playoff contests.
