Chicago and Iowa square off in a pivotal Game 5 of the Central Division Finals tonight in Des Moines, with the series even at two games apiece… The Wild’s 2-1 victory on Wednesday night was their second in a row at Wells Fargo Arena after the Wolves had won the first two games back in Chicago… Gerald Mayhew (9-1-10) scored both Iowa goals in Game 3, his AHL-best eighth and ninth goals of the playoffs… Mayhew (five goals), Luke Kunin (three) and Matt Read (one) remain the only Wild players to score in this series… Andrew Hammond (5-4, 1.91, .931) made 33 saves on Wednesday and now has a .984 save percentage on home ice this postseason (two goals against on 123 shots)… Curtis McKenzie (1-3-4), who led the league with 11 goals during the 2018 playoffs, scored his first of this postseason in the third period of Game 3, ending Chicago’s scoreless drought at 143:04… Oscar Dansk (4-3, 2.21, .914) turned aside 20 shots in Game 3, his fifth start out of seven this postseason allowing two goals or fewer… Iowa is 11-for-11 on the penalty kill in the series and 33-for-34 for the postseason (97.1 percent)… The Wild have outscored their opponents 17-2 in four home playoff games… Chicago has outshot Iowa in all four games of the series… In Calder Cup Playoff history, there have been 137 best-of-seven series that were tied at 2-2; the Game 5 winner has gone on to take the series 112 times (81.8 percent).

San Diego hosts Bakersfield in Game 4 of the Pacific Division Finals tonight after a wild evening on Wednesday… Staring at a possible 3-0 series hole, the Condors scored with 10.5 seconds left in regulation and again 33 seconds into overtime to pull out a 7-6 win, cutting the Gulls’ lead to two games to one… Both teams let two-goal leads slip away in Game 3; Bakersfield led 3-1 early in the second period and San Diego held a 6-4 lead midway through the third… William Lagesson (2-2-4) netted the winning goal for the Condors, who scored at least seven goals in a game for the ninth time this season… Joe Gambardella (5-3-8) had a five-point night for Bakersfield, recording a hat trick before assisting on both the game-tying and game-winning goals… Brad Malone (4-7-11) notched a goal and three assists and Tyler Benson (1-4-5) recorded the game-tying goal and added two assists… In his first action for Bakersfield since Mar. 8, Stuart Skinner stopped 10 of 12 shots and earned the win in relief of Shane Starrett (3-2, 2.46, .904)… Adam Cracknell (4-5-9) led the Gulls with a goal and two assists in Game 3, his second straight three-point outing… Sam Steel (4-4-8) and Kiefer Sherwood (4-2-6) registered a goal and an assist each… Jeff Glass (4-2, 2.52, .913) allowed a season-high seven goals on 37 shots in the loss… San Diego was 2-for-4 on the power play in Game 3 and is now 3-for-7 in the series and 5-for-18 (27.8 percent) for the postseason.

In last night’s Stanley Cup Playoff action, 2005 AHL All-Star Patrice Bergeron scored the winning goal during a four-goal third period as Boston opened the Eastern Conference Final with a 5-2 victory over Carolina… Steven Kampfer scored his first career Stanley Cup Playoff goal for the Bruins; Kampfer has scored one Calder Cup Playoff goal in his career, also against Petr Mrazek (2013, Houston vs. Grand Rapids)… Greg McKegg, who played 31 AHL games with Charlotte this season, scored his second goal of the playoffs for Carolina.
